Grand View University invites you to the Global eSports Clinic hosted by Hewlett Packard and sponsored by Adidas and BIG Athletics. This clinic will take place March 2-3, 2018, at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa.
This clinic is specifically for Athletic Directors that are exploring the idea of starting a competitive varsity eSports program, as well as for coaches, analysts, directors, casters, creatives and other vital eSports careers at current university and high school eSports programs around the country.
This two day event will provide keynote sessions and panel discussions presented by leading coaches and directors from competitive university programs from across the country. The clinic will also feature sponsor companies that provide products, resources, and services to help you start or enhance the eSports program on your campus.
Clinic topics will include: The Evolution of Competitive eSports, Recruiting the eSports Student/ Athlete, eSports Athlete – Stages of Development and How to Positively Influence Individual and Team Development, eSports Associations – The Benefits of Joining an Association, Principles of Play in Competitive eSports Games – Learning the Fundamentals, Developing Productive Practice and Training Sessions for competitive eSports Teams, and How to Start a University (or High School) eSports Competitive Program.
There will also be structured time for round table discussions and a Friday evening social event for clinic participants and sponsors with drinks and hors d’oeuvres. This will give you quality time to network, and learn from, individuals from established programs from around the country.
The clinic will begin at 6:30 p.m. C.S.T. on Friday, March 2 and end on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. Check-in on Friday begins at 4:00 p.m. at the Grand View University Student Center. See Clinic Schedule below for more details. There will also be a university eSports tournament taking place on Saturday and Sunday, March 3-4, so you can see how teams compete in a live tournament. Admission to the tournament is part of the clinic registration fee.
